 Congratulations to the winner of the President’s Choice Award, The Hacker Group, for an outstanding job on its Convergys Sales Readiness Solution direct marketing campaign.
The Hacker Group is a direct marketing agency that prides itself on meeting or exceeding its clients’ economic goals on every program. On this project, the agency needed to increase buyer interest in a customized sales training tool offered by its client, Convergys.
The agency positioned the Sales Readiness Solution as a “roadmap” to building a successful sales force. The crux of its direct marketing campaign centered around a gadget-giveaway (handheld GPS device) that reinforced the roadmap theme. The printed pieces and packaging were also designed with this theme in mind, featuring travel imagery such as maps, globes and arrows.
The centerpiece of the mailing was a colorful shoebox-sized package. Inside was a five-color brochure with rounded corners. Also enclosed were two personalized items—a letter and business reply postcard—which were printed in just one pass on the HP® Indigo Digital Color Press. The box also contained packing material and a black lanyard to hold the soon-to-come GPS device. The boxes were mailed to a targeted list of about 600 recipients.
The response to this campaign was extremely positive. Since the return on investment was so much better than expected, The Hacker Group soon contacted GLS about doing an identical mailing to 500 more prospects.
