A vibrant and striking campaign (past winner)

The Minnesota Dental Association believed that its Star of the North program materials, which feature a new design each year, were lacking the consistency, organization and punch they needed. It turned to GLS’s creative department to organize the materials, create the consistency and deliver the punch it was looking for—all on a modest budget.

The result was a vibrant piece that featured a bright red flower and a striking photo of the Northern Lights on the cover. Inside, all pertinent information was organized on separate, tabbed sheets, making it easy for exhibitors and attendees to quickly find the information they needed. The rich, vibrant color which radiates throughout the prospectus and direct mail pieces was achieved by substituting rubine red for magenta.

The same flower and Northern Lights theme was carried through all of the printed pieces, including brochures and post cards. All pieces were printed on a 100-lb. Cougar cover stock, allowing GLS to gang the pieces together in one print run—and save on the Minnesota Dental Association’s budget.

Weyerhauser, owner of the Cougar paper brand, was so impressed with the outstanding design and vibrant colors on the materials that it printed over-runs to use in its sample paper pack handout. In addition, the materials won a gold award in the IAPHC Gallery of Superb Printing awards competition.
