Account executive Mike Platt appreciates a good challenge. He enjoys trying new things and getting out of his comfort zone. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons behind Mike’s ongoing success in the printing industry.

Mike earned a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa. He has spent more than 23 years in commercial printing—and his roles have included sales, management and business ownership. He built his own printing company from scratch, and developed relationships with many accounts around the U.S. in the process.

In early 2007, Mike relocated his family from the Twin Cities to Austin, Texas. Having known Mike for more than 16 years, GLS President Gary Garner felt that Mike would be the perfect choice to help strengthen GLS’ national accounts as well as develop a new sales territory in Texas and the surrounding states. Mike joined GLS in June 2007.

Although getting established in a new area is never easy, Mike is excited to help build a new market for GLS in the Southwest. Mike enjoys introducing customers to the impressive capabilities, as well as the great team of people, that make GLS a leading provider of Integrated Communication Solutions.

Mike lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Melissa, and their three children. Since his trio of little Platts are all under the age of eight, Mike admits “noise is my life” and free time is hard to find! He coaches his son’s baseball team, and Mike also enjoys heading to the beach or exploring other parts of Texas with his family.
