Price Eligibility Change for Flats Effective October 3rd 2010
Is your flat mail ready to pass deflection, AKA “Droop”, flexibility, poly-wrap and uniform thickness?
What’s Changing?
- June 7th 2010 new deflection, or “Droop” standards went into affect for Flat sized mail to be eligible for Flat rate postage categories (penalty rates effective 10/3/2010).
- The new standards DECREASE the deflection amount or “Droop” by 1” for both sets of test criteria; Flats 10” or longer & Flats less than 10”.
- The testing method for determining the deflection or “Droop” has also changed.
- Existing standards for Poly-wrap, Flexibility & Uniform thickness must also me met or be subject to the penalty rates effective 10/3/2010.
